Earlier this summer, a handful of remarkable kids banded together to fundraise for the A-T Children’s Project in honor of Brigid, their local A-T superstar and close friend!
Emma is the daughter of Brigid’s daycare teacher. She and her friend, Nora came up with the idea for the fundraiser and crafted beautiful bracelets with their rainbow looms to sell. They picked a date and diligently worked on creating a colorful selection of bracelets. To spread the word about their roadside “Bracelets for a Cause” stand, they sent out flyers before the school year ended.
As the event drew closer, their friend William joined in by making signs to help advertise to passing drivers, while Brigid’s sister, Margaret, created a detailed trifold with information about A-T to raise awareness and educated everyone who stops by. A big shout out also goes to friends Olivia, Abby, and Asher who waved handwritten ads to help stop traffic for the fundraiser. Even friends from afar helped – Brigid’s cousin contributed by making and shipping more bracelets for the sale.
On July 5th, the “Bracelets for a Cause” fundraiser raised $800 for the A-T Children’s Project! These kids were nothing short of amazing. Their enthusiasm for supporting the A-TCP and Brigid was contagious and we loved their creative cut-out “Donating $ for A-T Research Makes Me Smile!” The fundraiser highlighted their kindness, passion, and dedication in support of Brigid.
In fact, this incredible group of young fundraisers had such fun organizing the event that they are already planning another one. Brigid’s mom commented, “I’m so proud of these kids for seeing something they felt was important and finding a way to do something about it! It takes a village and our village is just special.”
Thank you, Emma, Nora, William, Olivia, Abby, Asher and Margaret for all your hard work fundraising! We promise to put the funds to work toward A-T research right away.
