Support the Olive family as they hike the grand canyon!
You heard that right! Robert, Crystal, Clark and Alex will be taking on Expedition Phantom Ranch at the Grand Canyon in hopes to raise funds and awareness for A-T. Over 5 million people visit the Grand Canyon every year. Less than 10% of visitors step 1 foot below the rim of the canyon and even less than 1% of people make it to the bottom and back. There are two trails that lead to Phantom Ranch on the south rim. They will be hiking down the South Kailab Trail down to Phantom Ranch and back up Bright Angel Trail for a total of 26.7 km with 1447 meters of elevation gain. To make it down there for an abled person with full gear requires a lot of physical conditioning. To attempt this with Alex in his Joelette adaptive hiking chair and just 3 people is considered impossible. This is Expedition Phantom Ranch. And this is our next challenge.
This year we will be raising funds for the A-T Children’s Project by supporting the 2nd annual YABBA Strongkids Classic happening August 2025 in Claresholm, Alberta.

In honor of Alex and all other children and young adults with A-T
Alex is 14 years old and lives with a rare progressive degenerative genetic disease known as Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T for short). A-T causes loss of motor control, immune deficiencies, and high rates of cancer. Alex has been in a wheelchair since the age of 10. There is no known treatment or cure for this disease.
