Many of the families who fundraise for the A-TCP have come up with fun, meaningful logos and team names for their fundraising efforts and events that help to create a sense of unity and identity among their supporters. Creating a team name or logo is an opportunity to tell your story to your community, raise awareness about A-T and fundraise for A-T research.
When designing a logo or coming up with a team name, it can be hard to know where to start!
- Try drawing inspiration from your child’s personality or interests. This can work for both a team name and a logo. For example, Rhett (age 6) loves T-Rex dinosaurs so his family choose a T-Rex (or T-Rhett!) as the logo for their Stomp Out A-T 5K!
- Get creative with alliteration like Links for Lincoln or Birdies for Brayden, names of golf tournaments hosted by A-T families or Chris’ Crusade for a Cure, a “Name that Tune” fundraiser at a local pub!
- Think about what message you want your name or logo to convey. Many families convey a sense of hope with names like Audrey Jane’s Light, Rylie’s Angels and Johnson’s Angels, or a sense of strength like Connor Conquers A-T and B Brave Golf. Other families chose names that evoke a sense of togetherness like Andi’s Team or Alex’s Army.
- Call on friends! Phoning a friend who has an eye for design or a flair for words can help you to brainstorm a team name and logo that truly represents your family.
Keep in mind the benefits of picking something simple. A good fundraising logo should be easily recognizable and adaptable across various mediums—whether it’s printed on t-shirts, badges, social media profiles, or banners at fundraising events.
Having a team name and logo is powerful – they are symbols of HOPE! Supporters will be proud to be a part of the A-T community and to help to propel us toward the cure. As always, reach out to us at fundraising@atcp.org and we’d be happy to help every step of the way!
