For years, the Payne family has hosted a “B Brave golf tournament” in honor of their son, Brandon and in support of the A-TCP, bringing together friends, family, and community around a sport their community loves. This year, they’re expanding that spirit of giving with something new: pickleball, and they’re doing it on a particularly meaningful day.
The B Brave Pickleball Fundraiser is happening on Rare Disease Day, February 28, a day dedicated to raising awareness for the millions of individuals and families living with rare conditions worldwide. Hosting this event on Rare Disease Day underscores exactly what this fundraiser is about: visibility, community, and action for those often overlooked.
The B Brave Pickleball Fundraiser is just one example of how A-TCP supporters turn their supporters’ passions into impact for the A-T community. There have been so many creative fundraisers over the years and we are excited to be adding pickleball to our repertoire! In 2026, we already have numerous fundraisers on the calendar:
- 5k races
- Half and full marathons
- Music festival
- Golf tournaments
- Banquets
- Individual challenges
- Peer-to-peer fundraising using JustGiving
Each approach may look different, but they all lead to the same goal: progress for the A-T community.
Thank you to the Payne family for serving up hope this Rare Disease Day! Reach out to us at fundraising@atcp.org to learn more about how to turn your community’s passion into a fundraiser for the A-TCP.
