Every year, runners from across the country, and even around the globe, lace up their shoes and hit the pavement for a cause that’s close to their hearts: finding life-improving treatments and a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T).

These individuals join the A-T Children’s Project (A-TCP)’s A-T CureTeam to participate in runDisney race events, using their miles to make a meaningful difference. In return for a race entry, A-T CureTeam members commit to fundraising for the A-TCP, and how they reach their goals is nothing short of amazing.

We’re constantly inspired by the creativity and dedication of the A-T CureTeam runners, not just on the race course but also on the way to their fundraising goals. Here are just a few recent fundraising efforts that caught our attention:

🏃‍♂️ Bronx’s Mitzvah Run

Bronx and his family have been a loyal part of our A-T CureTeam for years, always showing up in support of their friend Rylie. This year, Bronx, went above and beyond by choosing to support the A-TCP for his mitzvah project. He organized a community run on a local track, asking for a $1 donation for each lap completed. With the support of friends and family, Bronx raised an incredible $1,500. Way to go, Bronx!

🍰 Sweet Support from Fairytale Cake Shop

Your talents can be a powerful tool for fundraising! A family of 5 is running with the A-T CureTeam at Disneyland and decided to turn their love of sweets into a way to raise both awareness and funds for A-T. They crafted custom A-TCP cake pops and sold them at a local market, bringing joy (and deliciousness!) to the community while supporting a cause they believe in and making progress toward their fundraising goal. Tasty and impactful! Check them out on Instagram here: https://www.instagram.com/fairytalecakeshop/.

🎽 Misty’s Sponsored 10K

Longtime A-T CureTeam member Misty knows that every step counts, literally. In preparation for her upcoming runDisney race, she signed up for a local 10K and challenged her supporters to sponsor each one of the ten kilometers with a $10 donation. Not only did Misty get in a great training run, but she also raised over $100 toward her fundraising goal. A simple, smart way to turn training into impact!
