May is here and busier than ever! The A-T Children’s Project staff and our volunteer grassroots fundraisers are working hard on lots of upcoming events from festivals to fun runs to golf tournaments and from West Virginia to Texas to California. Right now, we are just over a week away from the inaugural event in honor of Audrey Jane, a four-year-old girl recently diagnosed with A-T from Devine, Texas.
Audrey’s grandparents, Ken and Debi, own and operate Devine Acres Farms, an agri-entertainment venue with over 40 acres of farmland. Thanks to Audrey’s parents and both sets of grandparents, everything Devine Acres Farms has got is going to be put to work toward A-T research on May 14! And boy, does Devine Acres Farms have a lot!
Devine Acres Farms is pulling out all the stops and hosting a family fun day like no other. A Some Run fun run kicks off the morning accompanied by a walk/roll through the Christmas tree farm. The family fun day begins immediately afterwards and families can participate in over 40 activities around the farm to enjoy. You name it, they have it – hay rides, fishing, barrel train, animal barnyard, mazes, a trick roper and more! And the Audrey’s Light fundraising team wastes no daylight… activities continue into the evening with a special concert by the Jeremy Richards Band.
Audrey is so excited for her “big party” next Saturday and so are we! Thank you to the entire Audrey’s Light team, including her parents Josh and Brittany as well as grandparents Ken and Debi Capps, Tommy and KK Calame for giving hope to the entire A-T community with this event. If you live near Devine and want to join, please get registered using the buttons below!
