Sometimes, inspiration for the best fundraising ideas come from unexpected places. For her 40th birthday this year, A-T CureTeam runner, Misty, took an inventive approach to fundraising: for every $3 donated to the A-TCP, she rode one round on the carousel at the Carowinds amusement park!
Misty races with the A-T CureTeam at Disney year after year and raises money for the A-TCP. She consistently amazes us with her creative fundraising techniques. We loved this playful twist, and better yet, it worked! She raised $150 and went 50 rounds on the carousel. It took her almost 5 hours!
Misty’s carousel fundraiser is a perfect example of how creativity can bring people together and make giving feel personal and exciting. Whether it’s a playful challenge, a unique experience, or a fun twist on a classic idea, innovative approaches like hers remind us that fundraising doesn’t have to be ordinary, it can be memorable, cheerful, and impactful all at once.
At the A-T Children’s Project, we love seeing supporters think outside the box. Every spin, every laugh, every dollar raised brings us closer to advancing research, care, and hope for children living with ataxia-telangiectasia.
