When it comes to raising funds for the A-T Children’s Project, hosting a dinner fundraiser is a meaningful and impactful way to bring people together, spread awareness about ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T), and support life-changing research and programs for children and families affected by this rare disease. Whether it’s an elegant evening of fine dining or a themed event that captures the imagination, these gatherings show the power of connection and hope.

Next month, A-T parents Dave & Courtney, along with grandparents Brent & Gwen, and with help from Love Oakdale and the Oakdale Lions Club, are hosting a dinner fundraiser in honor of Charlotte, a 3-year-old girl with A-T. Charlotte’s Cure Dinner in Oakdale, CA will bring together family, friends, and supporters to share a meal, celebrate progress, and continue the fight against A-T. Guests can look forward to live and silent auctions, a musical performance along with dinner, drinks and lots of dancing! This first-time event is off to a great start as ticket sales and sponsorships are pouring in.

By inviting community members, friends, or local organizations to join your efforts, you not only share the workload but also expand the reach of your event, inspiring even more people to get involved.

Corporate sponsors play a vital role in supporting A-T fundraising efforts. These dinners allow sponsors to connect with attendees on a personal level, showcase their philanthropic efforts, and make a lasting impact on the fight against A-T. If you are interested in hosting a dinner, we can help you come up with a sponsorship menu that is right for your audience. Specifically for dinners, local venues, caterers, and businesses are often willing to partner or sponsor in-kind elements of the event, helping reduce costs and help them enhance their visibility.

Just over a year ago, another remarkable dinner fundraiser transported attendees to an enchanting underwater world with an “Under the Sea” theme. Event hosts and A-T parents Tim and Erica put on the event in honor of their teenage daughter, Rylie, who has A-T. Rylie crafted the theme herself and attendees were even encouraged to wear ocean-themed attire! The theme was also cleverly incorporated into the sponsorship menu – denoting different levels as Mermaid, Jellyfish, Pearl, High Tide and even Big Kahuna Event Sponsor. The event was a resounding success with a silent auction, whimsical decor, themed entertainment, and a profound sense of purpose as attendees came together to support the mission of the A-T Children’s Project.

Events like these highlight the creativity and dedication of the A-T community. They show that when we gather to share stories, enjoy good food, and inspire one another, we can make a real difference for those living with A-T. So, whether you’re inspired to host your own dinner fundraiser or attend an upcoming event, your support helps write the next chapter in the fight against A-T. Together, we’re turning hope into action. Thank you to all the families and friends who make this possible!
