Grassroots fundraising events make the work of the A-T Children’s Project (A-TCP) possible. Year after year, these events are powered by passion, volunteers, and, importantly, the support of generous local sponsors. Event host, Pamela Digby, has perfected her system for recruiting new sponsors and keeping returning sponsors coming back year after year for the upcoming Some Run 5K fundraiser in Texas.

Her secret? Sponsorship folders.

These folders, which she hand-delivers to local businesses, are informational packets that double as a tangible invitation to join our mission: to find life-improving treatments and a cure for ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T), a rare and devastating genetic disease.

Each folder includes:

📇 A business card with your contact information to answer any questions.

📄 A concise brochure about the A-T Children’s Project, outlining our mission, what A-T is, and why research is urgent. If you would like, this brochure can be customized with photos of your family.

❤️ A photo of someone with A-T.

📣 A colorful event flyer complete with the date, location, registration details plus photos from past years to show the heart of your event. Some sponsors may choose to hang this up in their store window!

💼 A sponsorship menu offering different support levels from Bronze to Platinum with the associated perks like business promotion, social media shout-outs, and logo placement on event t-shirts.

✉️ A personalized sponsorship request letter from your family addressed to the proprietor or contact inviting them to support this year’s event. The letter can call out the perks of being of sponsor and invite the contact to bring a team to participate!

These folders are designed to be clear, compelling, and easy to act on. They make it simple for local businesses to say “yes” to being part of something meaningful.

Whether a local company is a longtime supporter or learning about your event for the first time, an organized and enticing sponsorship proposal is an important tool for building meaningful partnerships and securing the support needed to make your grassroots event a success.
