To Our A-T CureTeam,

We hope that you all are staying safe and healthy!

width=The world may now seem to be at a halt, but A-T research and fundraising continues. Our fight for a cure remains a crucial priority while we all navigate an unprecedented time. With an optimistic outlook, we are opening registration for our charity group runners to participate in the Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend – January 6-10, 2021. Disney is expecting that the races will sell out quickly, especially for the shorter 5K and 10K distances. So, if you would like to secure a race spot, we encourage you to register with us as soon as possible.

We are staying in close touch with Disney and are confident that they are monitoring and making critical and timely decisions based on guidance from local, national, and international health agencies. Their number one concern remains the safety and well being of their cast members, guests and volunteers. They are unsure what accommodations they may make for runners and guests because of COVID-19, but we will keep you posted as we learn more.

width=Whether or not you’re ready to commit to run with us in January at Disney, please join us for our A-T Saturdays Virtual 5K – June 20, 2020. Over 100 A-T CureTeam members have signed up for the Virtual 5K so far and are fundraising and training alongside our team leaders, Crystal Olive (an A-T mom) and Megon Steele (an A-T sister). Team members will run or walk the 5K while social distancing near their homes and post photos of their own “race.” We’ll have fundraising medals, fun contests, and a special Zoom party on race day as well.

We hope that you decide to join us whether it be virtually in June or at Disney in January, and we can’t wait to see our A-T CureTeam members staying active! Good luck, A-T CureTeam – have fun and stay safe!

Take care,

Jennifer Thornton, Executive Director

P.S. – For those of you who are interested in joining the A-T CureTeam this November at the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas Marathon, we are still waiting to hear from the Rock ‘n’ Roll group about if and when race registration will open. We will keep you updated!
